Rob Dillingham's NBA struggles further confirm that the Trail Blazers were right to pick Donovan Clingan.

Rip City Project argues the Portland Trail Blazers' decision to draft center Donovan Clingan seventh overall in 2024 has proved successful compared to alternative option Rob Dillingham. Selected eighth overall, Dillingham was recently waived by the Charlotte Hornets following two unproductive NBA seasons, leaving his future in the league uncertain at age 21.
In contrast, writer Reese Kunz highlights that Clingan earned All-Rookie Second Team honors and established himself as a starting center following Deandre Ayton's buyout. Kunz notes that Clingan expanded his role, improved his conditioning, and anchored the Trail Blazers to a playoff berth during his breakout second season.
