Kawhi Leonard has addressed the latest reporting from journalist Pablo Torre, making it clear that he does not follow the ongoing coverage surrounding his former Clippers deal.
Kawhi Leonard dismissed recent reporting by journalist Pablo Torre regarding his past endorsement deal with Boingo Wireless during Toronto Raptors media day. Torre reported that Leonard received $1.9 million from the company, including $672,000 linked to a one-hour military photo shoot. Leonard stated he does not follow the coverage and is not entertained by it, adding that the NBA and the players' association had already completed their work.
The scrutiny follows an NBA investigation into the Los Angeles Clippers for salary cap violations, resulting in a $30 million fine and the loss of five first-round picks. Leonard previously paid $700,000 in restitution for improper benefits, while his uncle Dennis Robertson received a five-year ban from league business dealings. The Clippers also face ongoing inquiries from federal prosecutors and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
