The Boston Bruins suffered their first regulation loss of the season on Saturday night to the Minnesota Wild.

The Boston Bruins suffered their first regulation defeat of the season in a 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. Tanner Jeannot gave Boston an early 1-0 lead, but the Wild answered with two power-play goals in the second period, including one from Quinn Hughes, before Jared Spurgeon added an insurance goal in the third period.
Writer Scott Roche argues that costly penalties in the second period turned the game around against Boston. He also notes that the Bruins lacked a direct shooting mentality after an early barrage, while pointing out the difficulty of facing a rested Minnesota team on the second half of a back-to-back road trip.
