Avalanche Place Two Defensemen on Waivers as Roster Takes Shape

The Colorado Avalanche placed defensemen Christian Wolanin and Domenick Fensore on waivers on Wednesday afternoon as the team trims its roster during training camp. The other 31 NHL franchises have 24 hours to place a claim on either defenseman before they are reassigned.

Both players joined Colorado on one-year, two-way contracts during the offseason to serve as organizational depth. If Wolanin and Fensore clear waivers unclaimed, they are expected to report to the AHL's Colorado Eagles while remaining options for future call-ups.
