Avalanche suddenly have a new battle at center

The Colorado Avalanche are experimenting with new forward line combinations, creating unexpected competition at the center position. Newcomer Fedor Svechkov has been placed at center on the third line alongside Nic Roy on the wing, while Parker Kelly is currently centering the fourth line.

Head coach Jared Bednar stated that Svechkov requires runway to develop down the middle, though the team can shift Roy back to center if needed. The roster alignment also features Nazem Kadri on the second-line wing, offering Colorado additional positional flexibility.
