Michael Hage's resistance to signing with the Canadiens was a bit surprising, but fans don't have to look far to see where it has brought success in the past.

Nate Duffett of A Winning Habit argues that prospect Michael Hage could replicate Chris Kreider's path to early NHL playoff success with the Montreal Canadiens. Although Hage opted to remain at the University of Michigan rather than signing an entry-level contract immediately, Duffett suggests that finishing a strong college campaign could prepare the forward to join Montreal for a postseason push.
Kreider previously won an NCAA championship with Boston College in 2012 before immediately producing seven points in 18 playoff games for the New York Rangers. Duffett notes that if the Canadiens secure a postseason spot, Hage could provide a similar late-season impact following his collegiate run.
