After blanking New Jersey with 37 saves, the elite Russian netminder distanced himself from peers like Igor Shesterkin to cement his status as his generation's premier brick wall.

New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin achieved his 30th career NHL shutout following a 6-0 victory against the New Jersey Devils. Sorokin stopped all 37 shots faced in the matchup, becoming the first netminder drafted in the 2014 NHL Draft class to reach the 30-shutout milestone.
Sorokin leads peers from his draft class, with New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin ranking second with 22 shutouts. Sorokin previously led the NHL with seven shutouts last season and also led the league in the 2022-23 season with six.
