New York Islanders winger Victor Eklund scored his first career NHL goal during a home game against the New Jersey Devils on October 3, 2026. The 20-year-old forward scored in the third period against Devils goaltender Nico Daws at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, celebrating the milestone on his 20th birthday in front of his mother.
Selected 16th overall by the Islanders in the 2025 NHL Draft, the Swedish winger previously played for Djurgardens IF. After brief stints in the AHL and NHL at the end of the 2025-26 season, Eklund has tallied one goal and one assist across his first two NHL appearances this season.
