Former Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin remains an unsigned free agent looking for an NHL contract. Following an acquisition in March, the St. Louis Blues opted to buy out the final year of his deal over the summer after a challenging 2025-26 campaign.
According to insider Frank Seravalli, the Calgary Flames have been in talks with several unsigned veteran forwards, including Drouin, after an early-season slump. The writer reflects that Drouin thrived alongside Nathan MacKinnon in Colorado before leaving on a two-year, $8 million deal.
