Bleedin' Blue writer Justin Bonhard argues that Mason McTavish has performed well enough to earn a promotion to the St. Louis Blues' first line early in the 2026-27 season. Bonhard suggests McTavish could be moved to the wing alongside center Robert Thomas and Jimmy Snuggerud to help spark a struggling top forward unit.
Under this proposed shuffle, Dylan Holloway would move down from the first line, while Bonhard notes Dalibor Dvorsky could potentially step up into the second-line center position. Head coach Jim Montgomery could also choose to keep the current line combinations intact ahead of their fourth regular-season game against the San Jose Sharks.
