Canucks place 3 players on NHL waivers, make 15 more roster cuts

The Vancouver Canucks have reduced their training camp roster by 15 players, which includes placing three skaters on waivers. Trey Fix-Wolansky, Cole Clayton, and Jimmy Schuldt were placed on NHL waivers for the purpose of assignment to AHL Abbotsford. Additionally, eight players were assigned directly to Abbotsford or released from PTOs, while four junior prospects were sent back to their respective junior clubs.

The transactions leave 31 players on Vancouver's NHL roster, consisting of 18 forwards, nine defensemen, and four goaltenders. Injured players Thatcher Demko, Mackenzie MacEachern, Akil Thomas, and Jack Thompson have not taken part with the main group, leaving 27 healthy skaters and goaltenders competing for the 23 available opening-night roster spots.
