The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Justin Holl from their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears. In corresponding roster moves, the team placed Matt Roy on injured reserve and moved Rasmus Sandin to long-term injured reserve.
Roy has been sidelined with a lower-body injury suffered against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Meanwhile, Sandin continues to recover from a torn ACL sustained late in the 2025-26 season, entering the sixth month of an estimated six-to-nine-month recovery timeline.
