MONTREAL — In the blink of an eye, the Winnipeg Jets went from a team that could do no right to a team that could do no wrong.

The Winnipeg Jets completed an unprecedented NHL comeback against the Montreal Canadiens, overcoming a four-goal deficit with under three minutes remaining in regulation to eventually win in overtime. Prior to the game, teams trailing by four or more goals in the final three minutes had gone 0-10,300 in league history. Winnipeg scored four times in a 126-second span to force the extra period.
Tyrel Bauer sparked the late rally with his first NHL goal before setting up Morgan Barron 41 seconds later. Kyle Connor then scored two consecutive goals off assists from Mark Scheifele to tie the game at 4-4. In overtime, defenceman Dylan Samberg capitalized on a pass from captain Adam Lowry to score the game-winning goal.
