All Blacks star’s statement deal postponed and shock as former international dies

Former Scotland international and Edinburgh captain Ally Donaldson has died at the age of 60, as confirmed by the Scottish Rugby Union. Donaldson was a respected figure who spent 36 years as director of rugby at George Watson’s College and served as head coach of Currie, earning tributes across the sport including from Scottish Rugby president Keith Wallace.

Separately, All Blacks winger Fehi Fineanganofo has postponed his transfer to English club Newcastle Red Bulls by signing a one-year extension with New Zealand Rugby and the Hurricanes. Newcastle sporting general manager Neil McIlroy confirmed the club supports the 24-year-old remaining in New Zealand through the 2027 Rugby World Cup before starting a three-year permanent deal.
