Max Verstappen said his maiden win of 2026 at the F1 Bahrain GP in Malaysia was "hectic" but "super nice" to achieve for Red Bull.

Max Verstappen described his maiden victory of the 2026 Formula 1 season at Sepang as "hectic" but "super nice" for Red Bull. Starting from pole position, the Dutch driver overcame a sluggish start and rain delays to secure his 72nd career win ahead of championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
The triumph marked the first Formula 1 victory for the RBPT-Ford power unit. Verstappen credited Red Bull's strategy call to switch to intermediate tires, which allowed him to recover power and gradually reclaim the lead over the course of the 56-lap race.
