LA Legend among eight Contemporary Era candidates…

Former player and manager Dusty Baker has been named among eight candidates on the National Baseball Hall of Fame's 2027 Contemporary Era ballot. The ballot specifically considers managers, executives, and umpires who made significant contributions to baseball dating back to the late 20th century. A 16-member committee will evaluate the nominees, with results scheduled to be announced on December 6.
Baker ranks eighth all-time with 2,183 managerial victories across 26 seasons, winning a World Series with the Houston Astros in 2022. The other candidates under consideration are Bruce Bochy, Joe Maddon, Lou Piniella, Sandy Alderson, Brian Sabean, Bill White, and Ted Turner, with election requiring at least 75 percent of the vote.
