James Harden isn’t the James Harden who won an MVP and routinely made 40-point nights look almost normal. Mike D’Antoni knows that. He also thinks people have taken that observation way too far.
Former NBA head coach Mike D’Antoni has pushed back against claims that Cleveland Cavaliers guard James Harden is finished as an impactful player. Speaking to Kyle Odegard of Action Network, D’Antoni insisted that Harden remains one of the best players in the league, praising his high basketball intelligence.
The 37-year-old guard signed a three-year, $97 million contract with Cleveland this past summer. Last season, after joining the Cavaliers from the Los Angeles Clippers, Harden helped lead the team to the Eastern Conference finals alongside star teammate Donovan Mitchell.
