The Boston Bruins suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 4-1 to the Minnesota Wild at Grand Casino Arena on Saturday night. Tanner Jeannot scored early to give Boston an initial lead, but Minnesota answered with four consecutive goals. Kirill Kaprizov scored twice, while Quinn Hughes and Jared Spurgeon also found the net for the Wild.
Goaltender Michael DiPietro stopped 26 of 29 shots in his first NHL start for the Bruins. Boston struggled on special teams, failing to score on three power-play opportunities while allowing Minnesota to capitalize twice on the man advantage.
