Two-time major champion Jon Rahm is leaving the LIV Golf League and is working to finalize a separation agreement by Oct. 15, his attorney said.

Two-time major champion Jon Rahm is departing the LIV Golf League after rejecting the terms of the circuit's proposed "LIV 2.0" reorganization. Rahm's attorney, John Beck, announced the decision Wednesday in a U.S. Bankruptcy Court hearing, noting that both parties are working to finalize a separation agreement by Oct. 15. The departure deals a major blow to the league as it attempts to navigate Chapter 11 bankruptcy without funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
LIV Golf filed for bankruptcy protection on Sept. 8, listing liabilities between $500 million and $1 billion, including millions owed to players. While Rahm remains a member of the DP World Tour, his destination for 2027 remains uncertain after PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp stated the tour has no current plans to reinstate its Returning Member Program.
