The Showtime Lakers’ success changed the expectations in LA says Byron Scott, warns Luka Doncic

Former Los Angeles Lakers player and head coach Byron Scott stated that the success of the 1980s Showtime era permanently set the franchise's championship-or-bust expectations. Scott warned that new centerpiece Luka Doncic and his teammates will quickly discover the demanding standards expected from the fanbase.

Scott highlighted that playing for the Lakers requires winning titles rather than merely reaching the playoffs. Doncic, who previously starred for the Dallas Mavericks before moving to Los Angeles, addressed the pressure by stating that anyone who doubts the team can win a championship shouldn't be there.
