Avalanche Make 12 Cuts, Reduce Roster to 25 Players

The Colorado Avalanche announced on Sunday that they have cut 12 players to reduce their training camp roster to 25 players ahead of opening night. Six players were placed on waivers, including Wyatt Aamodt, Adam Beckman, Vinnie Hinostroza, Fabian Lysell, Keaton Middleton, and Tristen Neilsen. If they clear waivers on Monday, they will be reassigned to the AHL's Colorado Eagles.

Six additional players were assigned directly to the Eagles, highlighted by waiver-exempt forward Gavin Brindley, alongside Matt DiMarsico, Sean Behrens, Alex Gagne, Gustav Stjernberg, and Ilya Nabokov. The Avalanche must submit a cap-compliant roster of at most 23 players by Monday afternoon.
