Multiple Absences Add Uncertainty to Avalanche Roster Decisions

The Colorado Avalanche currently have 25 skaters remaining on their roster and must make at least two more cuts before opening night. With official rosters due by Monday at 3 p.m. MT, injuries and cap constraints are heavily influencing final decisions. Goaltender Trent Miner remains sidelined, while Georgii Merkulov and Taylor Makar were notably absent from Sunday's practice.

Logan O'Connor and Zachary L'Heureux also missed practice and did not dress for the weekend's preseason games. If both players are unavailable without being placed on long-term injury reserve, head coach Jared Bednar may have to start the season with 11 forwards and seven defensemen. General manager Joe Sakic prefers carrying a 22-skater roster due to salary cap limits.
