Goaltender Scott Wedgewood delivered a 33-save performance, but the Colorado Avalanche were shut out 2-0 by the Utah Mammoth on Saturday at Delta Center in their preseason finale. Utah built an early lead with first-period goals from Jack McBain and Logan Cooley, which proved sufficient as Colorado failed to generate enough offense to mount a comeback.
Wedgewood kept Colorado in contention by stopping all 23 shots he faced across the final two periods. The Avalanche penalty kill also succeeded on eight of Utah's nine power plays. Colorado concludes its exhibition slate and next hosts the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday to open the 2026-27 regular season.
