Breaking: Jared Bednar Confirms T.J. Hughes Makes Avalanche Roster

Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar confirmed Sunday that forward T.J. Hughes has earned a spot on the team's opening-night regular-season roster. The decision followed a strong preseason showing, highlighted by a hat trick and four-point performance in Colorado's 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets.

Hughes is also slated to start the season on Colorado's top power-play unit alongside Nathan MacKinnon. A former Michigan Wolverines captain, Hughes joins the NHL club after recording 57 points in 40 collegiate games during the 2025-26 season.
