The former Senators captain has put up back-to-back hat tricks, and his post-game comments that Florida has the NHL's best fans won't make next week's return to Ottawa any friendlier.
Florida Panthers forward Brady Tkachuk praised his new home crowd by calling Panthers supporters the "best fans in the NHL" during a postgame interview on Thursday. The comment came after Tkachuk scored his second consecutive hat trick, giving him six goals in two games ahead of his upcoming return to face the Ottawa Senators.
Steve Warne of The Hockey News argues that Tkachuk's comments will likely ensure a hostile reception from Senators fans when he returns to Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday. Although Ottawa plans to show a tribute video honoring his eight seasons as captain, the writer expects the former captain to face heavy boos.
