The Story in 60 Seconds

Ottawa Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark has tied the franchise record for the best start to a season by a goaltender, opening with a 6-0-0 record. The milestone matches the mark previously set by Ray Emery during the 2005-06 NHL campaign. Through his first six games, Ullmark has recorded a 1.20 goals against average and a .949 save percentage.

Billy Heyen notes that Ullmark's hot start comes after Ottawa traded away Brady Tkachuk in the offseason. Ullmark originally joined the Senators via a June 2024 trade from the Boston Bruins, who received Mark Kastelic, Joonas Korpisalo, and a 2024 first-round pick in return. Ullmark can break the franchise record in Ottawa's upcoming game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
