Ottawa Senators forward William Eklund suffered an apparent leg injury during Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Early in the first period, Eklund was checked along the boards by Simon Benoit and fell to the ice in obvious pain. Unable to put any weight on his leg, he required assistance from teammates to leave the ice and did not return to the contest.
The injury adds to Ottawa's growing list of sidelined players, which already includes defenseman Jake Sanderson and Artem Zub. Eklund joined the Senators via an offseason trade from the San Jose Sharks in June 2026 alongside Kasper Halttunen and Brandon Svoboda in exchange for a first-round draft pick.
