Aidan Borland hails John McGinn as ultimate Villa role model

Aston Villa youngster Aidan Borland has praised club captain John McGinn as the ultimate role model, highlighting the Scotland international's support during his transition into senior football. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, the 19-year-old midfielder revealed that McGinn provided his phone number and regularly checked in on him both on and off the pitch following his arrival from Celtic.

Borland is currently spending the season on loan at Accrington Stanley to gain valuable first-team experience, following a previous loan spell at Swindon Town. Villa academy manager Mark Harrison had previously highlighted the Scottish teenager's composure and ball management as key attributes for his long-term progression at the club.
